It’s a Saturday morning, and Neal’s Yard is constant with foot traffic. Whether it is the colourful building or to get a massage at the well known Neal’s Yard Remedies flagship store but on the corner on the left, one small space which has a couple of tables set outside is pumping out grain porridges, cold bowls and coffee. Some may overlook the menu as simple, but the processes used to make the grain shine is nothing but pure, honest food, which makes this cafe a must to experience.
26 grains is a Scandinavian inspired cafe started by Alex Hely- Hutchinson. Alex has also published her cookbook which for a foodie is worth owning a copy, an essential staple for your kitchen.
As this is a small shop, no reservations are taken. Each time I have come here, I have had to pounce to get a table or wait patiently.
The coffee is smooth and presented with proper latte art.
Overall, never underestimate a small space with a buzz of people dropping in and out for a catch-up or quick lunch. This is a great London brunch experience.
