It’s 11 am on a Saturday, the sun is shining, and the neighbourhood of West End is buzzing with people shopping in the boutique shops and brunching out the front of the array of restaurants and cafes on offer in Glasgow’s West End.
I stop by the little hole in the wall cafe, Black Pine Coffee Co. These guys are an independent speciality coffee shop. The shop interior has mountains and quotes in picture frames, a few houseplants, some lifestyle coffee books and some serious coffee equipment to purchase. And I can’t forget to mention the “Death before Decaf” neon sign on the ceiling.
Located on Great Western Road, Black Pine Coffee Co’s personality and coffee culture are bursting with excitement. You can feel it in the air. With a simple set up with a coffee machine and some local baked goods, what else do you need?
This cafe looks like it will seat around twenty people. There is a table out the front for those who like to bring their dog, or people watch and a few tables inside where you can watch the baristas do their magic.
I order my oat milk flat white and piece of carrot cake. Within minutes, the friendly staff brings over some good looking coffee and moist carrot cake. Their coffee and cake are a delight. Well worth the stop if you are passing through West End.
Why not visit Black Pine Coffee Co.
